What do you do if your smartphone is lost or stolen? Our instructor, Mike McMahon, will present ways to deal with this difficult situation. He will suggest easy, common-sense things you can do now to minimize the impact. He will also outline the steps recommended by industry experts to try and recover your phone. Steps to remotely access the phone and/or purge it of your personal data will be discussed.
Participants will leave with practical knowledge that can help protect both their smartphone and the personal information stored in it. The last 15 minutes will be devoted to your questions.

Discover how to make Siri your helpful, hands-free iPhone assistant! Our instructor, Mike McMahon, will show you how to use Siri to make phone calls, send texts and emails, set reminders and alarms, get directions, check the weather, search for information, and much more. You’ll also learn useful Siri commands and tips that can save time and make every-day iPhone tasks easier. Siri is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac computers.
Whether you’re new to Siri or already use it occasionally, you’ll discover features and shortcuts you may not know exist. The last 15 minutes will be devoted to your questions.
Emergency Preparedness – Wildfires and More

The 2014 Poinsettia Fire forced many residents to evacuate as the wildfire spread quickly in Carlsbad. That experience reminds us that we need to be prepared for emergencies of all kinds. Our instructor, Mike McMahon, will share the story of his family’s evacuation from wildfire in both 2007 and 2014. He will present an organized and thoughtful approach that will help you calmly and efficiently plan for, and respond to, the call to evacuate your home. Earthquake preparedness will also be discussed.
Seating is limited. The last 15 minutes of class will be devoted to your questions.

Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze – which mapping app is best for you? Our instructor, Mike McMahon, will cover the basics of each of these amazing apps in this class. These apps are updated often - even if you use one or more of these apps now, you are sure to pick up a few handy tips. Both iPhone and Android smartphone users will find this class informative and fun.
